And Yet Another Busy Busy Week

Hopefully soon the weeks will start going by slower... it seems like I have no idea where the time went! I can't believe that Allison is already 8 weeks old! We go for her 2 month check up on Friday and I can't wait to see how much she weighs and how long she is! She has grown so much!

Last week was Thanksgiving and we travelled to Huntsville, AL to see my mom. It's a little over a 4 hour trip and Allison slept for about 3 of those hours! She was so great and she loved seeing her grandma! She always gets so happy when she see's her! She also loved being with her Uncle Jason and Great-Aunt Linda! It was also great for me to have a little time by myself... Chris and I went 4-Wheeling! I almost forgot all about Allison until Chris reminded me of her to try to make me slow down! Apparently he thought I was going a little fast!

Allison slept through most of the Thanksgiving day. She was so good while we were all baking in the kitchen and woke up long enough to play and get a bottle and then went right back to sleep! She was also perfect Friday for my mom's wedding! She slept through all the chaos of us running all over town picking up last minute items and was perfectly happy sitting with anyone who wanted to hold her! I was running all over trying to get dressed and ready and a couple of times lost track of my child! I knew she was in good hands though, and she seemed to enjoy being the hit of the wedding! She was definitely one of the most beautiful people there... second to my mom of course!

All in all it was a great week... lots of sleeping on her part and great to see my mom and family!

On another note, Allison has been sleeping through the night! (YEA) She started that about 2 weeks ago and Chris and I are moving back into our room soon. I wanted to make sure that she was sleeping well before we left and we had some guests at our house that I didn't want to wake up just in case she decided to start screaming! However, she hasn't, so Chris and I are moving back. I have to say I'm having a little bit of a hard time with it. I have been saying for the past 2 weeks that we would move back, but keep finding reasons not to; the bed isn't made, there's too much stuff on the bed, etc. I thought Chris would be the one having the problems, but he doesn't seem to care. He sleeps wherever I sleep!

I guess that's it for this post! I look forward to posting soon about how big she has gotten! Enjoy some pics from the previous week!

A Really Cute Baby

I took this video the other day and thought it was so cute I should share it with y'all. Allison is becoming more and more aware of her surroundings and staying awake more and more. The singing is not the greatest, it's just me, and the video could be better, but I still thought it was good enough to share. The rattle part in the first song is me and in the second is all Allison. Hope you enjoy!

Here's just a cute picture of her smiling!

Another Busy Busy Week

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I wrote on my blog! I am trying to be diligent about it and do it every Mon or Tues morning, but that didn't seem to happen this week. Well, at least I'm only a couple of day late. It has been an extremely busy week, but an awesome week! Last Thursday night one of my favorite Aunts came to town to see Allison, and me of course, and we had the best time! Friday we relaxed and just took it easy, we went for a walk which was pretty exhausting but took it easy other than that. Saturday we found a cute little Farmer's Market at Piedmont Park (which if you don't know what that is, if you ever come to Atlanta, I will show you)! It was a small market, but we found some really cool stuff. We bought flavored pasta, Whole Wheat Lemon-Chive, goat cheese (never had it before, and it was amazing!), Freshly picked Persimmons, and Persimmon Jam! It was also a perfect day to go walking in the park too, Allison slept the WHOLE time (which was probably a good thing, but I wanted to take her picture with the scenery and that didn't happen)! Sunday Allison went to church for the first time and she did great! Well, she slept the whole time, but we appreciated it! Then we drove to Anniston to meet up with my mom and brother and Aunt so that they could see my Aunt Sondra and Allison, of course. We got there a little early so we had to go shopping! Allison got some really cute outfits from her Aunt! We are going to have a fashion show once I get done with laundry! Allison was perfect the whole time too, slept mostly! She did wake up to eat dinner with us and be a little social, but slept the whole way home, which was about an hour and half drive! And, she even slept that night too! Monday we went to Lake Lanier to see some of Sondra's family and Allison got her first smell of horses! We got to pet the horses, but of course, Allison slept through that! I know she got a whiff of what horses smell like, because it was very overwhelming! Then Tuesday we went to go meet Chris for lunch, go shopping for some more cute outfits, and went to the airport to take Sondra back! It was an awesome week and Allison seemed to really enjoy her Great-Aunt Sondra! I already miss her, it seemed like when Sondra left, Allison stopped sleeping regularly! She has been up all day for the past 2 days, like only an hour of sleep from 10am-7pm. An hour total... not even a straight hour! I still think that I have a perfect child... even though she likes to stay awake to hang out with her mommy!

A Busy, Busy Week

Wow, last week was very busy but we had a very wonderful time! My mom came and stayed with us for the week and it was so great to have an extra set of hands with Allison... truth be known, I think I was the extra set! My mom was attached to her the whole week! I think Allison really enjoyed it though! We had a great time meeting with old friends and showing Allison off to everyone! We also went shopping and bought her some new clothes! I have to say, more than ever I now believe that I have a perfect child! She was so well behaved while we were out and about and slept so well in the car! She, I believe, is also the most gorgeous baby! Everywhere we went people kept stopping to tell us how precious and beautiful she is!

 Chilling at the house

We had a long day of shopping!

Happy 1 Month

I can't believe it! 1 month ago today we had our baby girl! Part of me can't believe that it's been a month already! It seems like just last week I was waddling  to work and complaining of my horrible heartburn! But then it also seems like Allison has been with us forever! She fits in so perfectly to our family, that even though we have made a lot of changes, it seems like our normal life!

Last week Allison decided that she wanted to shift her schedule, so she was going to bed at 8pm and waking me up at 3am. She would stay awake for about 3 hours and then fall asleep for about 2 hours and then go back to her normal 4 hour schedule. My body decided that it was going to fail me though... See, when she would nap, I would lay with her with my eyes closed but somehow NOT be able to fall asleep. So for about 3 days I was only getting 4 hours of sleep! Well, it finally caught up with me. Saturday morning (about 4am) I started getting a headache and by that evening it had turned into a migraine! I ended up going to bed at 8pm and Chris was stuck with baby duty! Apparently she stayed awake until about 2, but I didn't seem to notice. Anyway, I think they had a great time bonding! Needless to say, we are trying to shift her back to the schedule that I remember.

We went to the doctor today for Allison's 1 month check up and she is perfect! She weighed in at 8.15lbs (which I have a REALLY hard time believing that she gained 1.7lbs, but that's what happens when you change scales)! She's 21.5 inches long and she is growing right on schedule! She was above average for her length and we are trying to catch up to her weight. The doctor also mentioned how big her feet were to which I was like, "Thanks... She got those from me!"Apparently she is going to be just as tall as I am expecting her being! We talked to the doctor about weaning her off of the bottle, so we have a plan for that. She has been nursing for about  an hour and a half (sleeping on and off the whole time) and then eating 4 ounces of formula! (Maybe she really did gain all that weight) The doctor told me to nurse for 30 minutes and then give her a bottle and she will learn that she only gets a certain amount of time to eat, not to play around. And then we will slowly start reducing her formula intake by half an ounce. This should help with my milk coming in and getting her more satisfied and get us on a normal schedule, not just an eat-whenever-you-like schedule! She also told me that I have to start putting her down more... that it may not be the best thing for me to hold her all the time! That it might get her used to being held which might be a problem in the future... Mommy will have to start getting used to the idea.

So things are going very well here! My mom came in yesterday to help out for the week and it has been great! I like being able to let someone else hold her for awhile so I can get cleaning/cooking done and she's also helping Allison get used to her bouncer and swing (which is going to be great for when she leaves).

Just hanging out

 Happy baby!
